Here some press titles regarding the latest study on the development of celiac disease.
« Could gluten intolerance be caused by a virus? " the world.
« A virus involved in celiac disease? » Pharminfo.
« Gluten allergy can be triggered by a virus » Letz be Healthy and Essential.
Take note of the confusion in the press between gluten intolerance/celiac disease and gluten allergy. The study, published on April 7, 2017 in the magazine SCIENCE, implicates viruses in the development of autoimmune conditions such as celiac disease and type 1 diabetes, and raises the possibility that vaccines could one day be used to prevent these diseases.
